IOS Annual Conference 2027: Recentering the Margins of the World Economy in Past and Present

The IOS Annual Conference 2027 is an academic conference addressing natural resources, commodity frontiers and political ecology in Eurasia with a focus on Eastern and Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia. It brings together multidisciplinary contributions from history, economics, political science, sociology and social anthropology. Selected presenters will deliver papers at the on-site conference in Regensburg, Germany on 20–21 May 2027.

Two nights' accommodation and reimbursement of travel expenses (economy class); contribution toward long-distance/transatlantic travel when applicable.

Scholars from various disciplines (history, economics, political science, sociology, social anthropology and related fields) are invited to submit paper proposals.

Prepare a single PDF containing a one-page academic CV, an abstract (max 500 words) with paper title and theme, and a short bio (max 200 words); send by email to annualconference@ios-regensburg.de with the author’s name in the PDF filename.
