UNESCO MAB Young Scientists Awards 2026

The UNESCO MAB Young Scientists Awards 2026 provides grants to young researchers for work on ecosystems, natural resources and biodiversity within biosphere reserves. The awards aim to encourage global participation, with emphasis on developing countries, and to support research activities through dedicated fellowships up to US$5,000. Applications are open with a deadline of May 7, 2026 and must be endorsed by the applicant’s MAB National Committee.

Financial grant up to US$5,000 to support research; reporting requirements and publication of results.

Applicants must be 35 years old or younger at the closing date, and the application must be endorsed by the applicant’s MAB National Committee.

Submit an application on the MAB Young Scientists Award form (in English or French) endorsed by the national committee.
