Information

The Sawaba Fellowship 2026 is a fellowship hosted by Liberation Alliance Africa that provides space for researchers, thinkers, artists, practitioners, activists, writers, journalists, and community organisers to engage in reflection, experience-based discourse, research, and knowledge production on decolonial feminist futures. Four fellows of African descent residing on the African continent will be selected and the fellowship includes a three-day residential retreat on the continent. A monthly stipend is provided to fellows for project expenses during the fellowship.

Eligibility

Fellows may be artists, academics, journalists, documentarians, thinkers, playwrights, poets, architects, urban planners, novelists, cultural workers, or practitioners in other fields, and must be deeply rooted in decolonial feminist politics and reside on the African continent.
