Coimbra Group Worldwide 2026

Information

Universities of the Coimbra Group offer short-term research visits (1–3 months maximum) to Sub-Saharan African early-career researchers. The programme aims to support continuing research at the scholars' home institutions and foster academic collaborations with European institutions. Scholarships are funded by participating Coimbra Group member universities, with the Coimbra Group Office managing the application process.

Eligibility

Be born on or after 1 January 1981. Be nationals and current residents of a Sub-Saharan African country. Be academic staff members of a university or equivalent higher education institution in Sub-Saharan Africa. Preferably hold doctoral/postdoctoral or equivalent academic status.
