Seyi Makinde Essay Competition 2025

OID is hosting the Seyi Makinde Annual Essay Competition 2025 to empower young Nigerians in Oyo State with a platform to showcase creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The competition covers topics related to AI and technological innovation, climate-smart agriculture, leadership, and environmental sustainability, with cash prizes and scholarships for winners and participants. It is open to residents or indigenes of Oyo State who are students of recognised institutions in Nigeria.

Total cash prizes of ₦1.75 million, global certificate of participation, and scholarship offers for winners; access to Leadership Academy training for top participants.

Must be a resident or indigene of Oyo State and a student of any recognized institution in Nigeria; aged 18–35 years old.

Choose one essay topic from the four provided, write a 1,000–1,500 word essay in English, save as .doc/.docx, include full name, phone number, and email, attach proof of student status and residency, and submit by email to essay@omituntunindiaspora.org.
