About this opportunity
The UBC Mastercard Foundation Scholarship is a fully funded master’s program for academically talented yet economically disadvantaged students from Sub-Saharan Africa. It covers tuition, living expenses, books, travel, lodging, and health insurance, and provides leadership training, mentorship, and access to a global alumni network. The scholarship is taken at the University of British Columbia in Canada and aims to develop transformative leaders who will contribute to their communities after graduation.

Eligibility
Applicants must be citizens or refugees of Sub-Saharan African countries, have lived a significant part of their life in Sub-Saharan Africa, and be economically disadvantaged with a bachelor’s degree (and not already hold a graduate/PhD degree).
How to apply
Review eligibility and program fit, complete the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program application by October 31, 2025, then submit the official UBC faculty program application; interviews may be conducted for shortlisted candidates.
