Alliance for African Partnership (AAP) and Michigan State University (MSU) Worldwide 2026

Information

The African Futures Research Leadership Program is a fully funded visiting scholar program for early career researchers from African countries. It supports mentorship with MSU faculty and home-institution collaborators, aims to strengthen research capacity and outputs, and includes a period of virtual work followed by an in-person component at MSU, with funding for travel and professional development activities.

Benefits

Travel, accommodation, research expenses, mentorship from MSU faculty, support for publications, a week-long exchange visit, and funding for dissemination activities.

Eligibility

Citizens of African countries who have completed a PhD within the last 10 years and are employed as academic staff at an AAP consortium university or equivalent, with a leave/sabbatical approval and a home-institution mentor.
