Information

The T-SUMR Fellowship supports Trinity undergraduate students at Duke University to engage in immersive, faculty-mentored summer research for either a 6- or 10-week period. Awards provide a monetary fellowship for full-time summer research and can support projects in humanities, social sciences and STEM. Preference is given to students whose research is directly related to senior thesis projects and projects require a Duke faculty mentor.

Benefits

$3,000 (6 weeks) or $5,000 (10 weeks) stipend; up to $1,000 additional for supplies/travel for social sciences and humanities projects; faculty mentorship.

Eligibility

With the exception of graduating seniors, all undergraduates in Duke's Trinity College enrolled for the following fall semester are eligible; students must have the support of a Duke faculty mentor and may not be enrolled in courses during the fellowship period.

Application

Submit the Trinity Summer Undergraduate Mentored Research Fellowship application via Duke's application system (Duke Experiences) including a research proposal, abstract, sources, mentor endorsement (faculty letter of support), and the T-SUMR acknowledgement of commitment.
