Information

A full-time summer research internship program run by the Stanford Department of Biology that places current Stanford undergraduates in faculty-led biological research projects. Projects occur primarily on Stanford's main campus, with some field opportunities offsite or abroad. Participants work with faculty, postdocs, and graduate students and present work at a poster symposium at the end of the program.

Benefits

Full-time paid research internship with mentorship from faculty/postdocs/graduate students, a stipend of $8,500, possible need-based supplement up to $1,500, and participation in a required poster symposium.

Eligibility

The program is intended for Stanford undergraduate students only; priority is given to first- and second-year students with limited research experience. Applicants must be in an undergraduate (not graduate) tuition group and not already participating in another full-time commitment. Previous BSURP awardees are not eligible to apply.

Application

Interested Stanford undergraduates fill out the online application, selecting up to 1-3 project preferences. Faculty review applications and may invite applicants for interviews. Candidates must accept offers by the stated acceptance deadline.
