FAO–AUN-AFS Youth Research Proposal Competition 2026

A youth research proposal competition inviting master's students to submit research proposals aligned with FAO’s Four Betters and the theme of innovation, data and digital transformation for agrifood systems. The competition targets topics including sustainable food systems, climate-resilience, nutrition, and inclusive rural development. Thematic winners receive research grants and an opportunity to present at the 10th International Agriculture Congress in Malaysia. Finalist presentations take place in Malaysia in September 2026.

USD 2,000 research grant for each thematic winner; opportunity to present at the 10th International Agriculture Congress (IAC10) in Malaysia; regional networking opportunities.

Applicants must be a Master's student aged 35 years and below, enrolled in an ASEAN+3 UNet Member University, and must have completed at least one introductory course from the FAO e-Learning Academy under one of the five research themes.
