Indo-French AI Research Grant 2026

A joint research grant supporting collaborative projects between Indian and French partners in applied mathematics and artificial intelligence. Projects may run for up to three years and focus on areas such as AI foundations, optimization, trustworthy AI and PDE modeling. Each country funds its respective participants, with up to €1.5 million allocated by each side. The grant promotes researcher mobility and integrated binational projects rather than parallel efforts.

Joint partnerships must include at least one eligible Indian institution and one French partner; eligible applicants include universities, research institutions, AI labs and applied mathematics departments. Companies and NGOs may participate under specific conditions, with Indian entities required to self-fund and provide a letter of intent.

Form a joint India–France partnership, select a research theme, prepare a collaborative scientific proposal with CVs and required documents, and submit a joint application through the designated system.
