Ghana Science & Tech Explorer Challenge Prize

The Ghana Science & Tech Explorer Challenge Prize (GSTEP) is a school-level competition for junior high school teams to design STEM-based prototypes that solve community problems. The programme selects semi-finalist and finalist teams to receive mentorship, industry exposure and present at an exhibition and awards ceremony. Winners receive cash prizes, STEM materials and trophies. The 2026 edition includes a hybrid semi-finalist stage and expanded regional participation.

Coaching and mentorship with a business mentor and technical coach, industry visits for finalists, soft skills development, cash prizes, STEM materials, and trophies.

Junior High School students (JHS 1–2) in Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, and Volta Regions; teams of 4–6 students (ages 11-16) with 1 lead facilitator (teacher).
