Research in Health Care Sciences 2026

A funding call by the Strategic Research Area Health Care Science (SFO-V) for research projects within its four core areas (co-creation, self-management, eHealth, bio-behavioral health care science). Up to 20 projects will be awarded funding for 2026, with 50% of awards reserved for junior researchers. The call is administered via the Prisma application system and may include a possible extension of funding for 2027 subject to available funds and project progress.

Monetary grant of SEK 600,000 per awarded project (up to 20 projects); possibility of a second-year extension contingent on progress; grantees are expected to deliver a series of open seminars.

The main applicant must be employed at Karolinska Institutet for at least 50%, conduct research in one of the four core SFO-V areas, may only be main applicant on one project, and applicants or co-applicants with unexpired SFO-V funding are ineligible; junior researchers are defined as those who obtained their PhD no more than seven years prior to the application deadline.
