State scholarships for foreign students

State-funded scholarships enable foreign citizens from partner countries to study in Ukrainian higher education institutions under programmes financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The scholarship covers tuition-free education and may include a monthly stipend, medical care, student dormitory accommodation and a one-year free preparatory Ukrainian language course. Some costs are excluded from the scholarship and must be paid by the student. The academic year runs from 1 September to 30 June.

Available to citizens of countries that have bilateral or multilateral educational agreements with Ukraine; candidates are nominated via their national authorities.

Applicants must apply via their national competent education authority which conducts a national selection and nominates candidates to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
