Information

The African Academy for Open Source Investigation (AAOSI) Fellowships recruit journalists from investigative media organisations and watchdog NGOs in select African countries. The programme aims to equip participants with open-source intelligence and social media intelligence forensic analysis skills to produce evidence-driven analyses, supporting information integrity and democratic accountability. The second cohort will run for four months in 2026 with financial and technical support, publishing assistance, and growth opportunities for affiliated organisations.

Eligibility

Candidates must be based in one of the target African countries, have at least one year of journalism experience (preferably investigative or data journalism), and be affiliated with a media house or relevant organisation, including freelancers. They must participate in weekly online training and mentorship and be willing to publish their work publicly.
