About this opportunity
The Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) Scheme is a two-year fellowship for experienced industrial scientists and entrepreneurs to spend about one day per week at a UK university. It aims to expose staff and students to industrial research challenges, support the translation and commercialisation of research, and promote entrepreneurship and professional development. The scheme covers various life and physical sciences fields, including engineering, and provides salary support, travel and project costs, and opportunities to attend conferences and training.
Benefits & funding
Salary support for 20% of working time, travel and project costs, accommodation if required, conference attendance, workshops and training, and career development opportunities.
Eligibility
Open to applicants of any nationality who can work in the UK; candidates should have a science/engineering background with substantial experience in industrial research and be able to demonstrate experience in university–industry collaborations, entrepreneurship, or mentoring.
