TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme 2026 for Postdoctoral researchers from sub-Saharan Africa

Such visits must be undertaken within 12 months of the award and aim to initiate research collaboration between African and German scientists, potentially leading to longer-term links. DFG will cover travel expenses and provide subsistence costs for the stay in Germany.

Applicants must hold a PhD obtained not earlier than 2021 (with gender-based extension rules for female applicants), have an active research position in a sub-Saharan African institution at the time of proposal submission, and have at least five years of engagement in a science system prior to the call.
