The Fate Foundation AI Upskilling Programme is a multi-country initiative led by FATE Foundation in collaboration with the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) and supported by Google.org. It aims to build sustainable AI education capacity within African higher education institutions in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa, by upskilling lecturers, teaching assistants, and penultimate/final-year STEM students with access to a localized AI curriculum derived from the Google DeepMind AI Research Foundation’s materials. The program seeks to enhance institutional capacity and visibility through showcases and the development of AI-powered solutions addressing real-life problems.
