Wageningen University & Research (WUR), in collaboration with the University of Antwerp, is offering a fully funded PhD position in microbial electrochemistry for purple phototrophic bacteria under the Purple Spark project. The position is within the Environmental Technology (ETE) department at WUR and may involve work with the University of Antwerp; the award includes a fully funded PhD position with a competitive salary and a structured doctoral training program.

Benefits

Fully funded PhD position with a competitive salary; monthly gross salary starting at €3,059 and increasing to €3,881 in the fourth year; 38-hour full-time contract; pension scheme; parental leave; visa/relocation support; access to on-campus facilities; tailored doctoral training; tax exemptions for international staff in some cases.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, or a related field and have a strong interest in microbial electrochemistry and related laboratory experience.
