The African STARS Fellowship Programme 2026 is a funded fellowship initiative led by the Centre for Epidemic Response and Innovation at Stellenbosch University (South Africa) and the Centre for Africa’s Resilience to Epidemics at Institut Pasteur de Dakar (Senegal). It offers two tracks aimed at developing leaders in genomics, diagnostics, vaccine design, and biotechnology innovation for Africa, with training, leadership development, and placement opportunities. Fellows receive full funding including travel, visa support, accommodation, a monthly stipend, mentorship, and access to a regional alumni network.

Eligibility

Born in and/or living in Africa; 35 years old or younger; relevant postgraduate qualification (minimum Master’s degree; PhD advantageous); ATT Track or YPP Track-specific requirements; fluency in English or French; women strongly encouraged to apply.
