AGNES Intra-Africa Mobility Grants Worldwide 2025

Information

The AGNES Intra-Africa Mobility Grants for Junior Researchers provide mobility funding for sub-Saharan African doctoral students to support international collaboration and access to host institutions. The grant supports travel and living costs for research stays of up to two months, with different grant amounts depending on duration. It is funded by BMZ with support from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and aims to strengthen the scientific capacity and networks of young African researchers.

Eligibility

Direct applications from junior researchers who are officially registered for a doctoral degree at a university or tertiary institute in sub-Saharan Africa, and who have at least one published article from their thesis work (in a non-predatory journal). Applicants must be nationals of a sub-Saharan African country and demonstrate relevance of their work to development in sub-Saharan Africa.

Application

Submit a short ENGLISH research/project proposal with a work schedule, a standard ENGLISH CV, official postgraduate registration proof, transcripts, a list of publications, travel quotes, and a host invitation letter.
