IJP Southern African-German Journalists’ Programme Berlin, Germany 2026

Information

The IJP Southern African-German Journalists’ Programme 2026 offers a work exchange for journalists from Southern Africa and Germany to work at a host media outlet, producing content for their home newsroom. The programme aims to foster understanding between Germany and Africa and provides a bursary to support travel, accommodation and living expenses. Participants are required to produce a report and copies of their published work after returning home.

Fixed payment of 3,500 Euro; work exchange at a host media outlet; requirement to write a report and provide copies of published work after returning home.

Eligibility

All journalists from Southern Africa (SADC Member States and Kenya) between the age of 25 and 40 who regularly work for a media organisation can apply. Above average English language skills are required.
