Honjo International Scholarship Foundation Scholarships

The Honjo International Scholarship Foundation Scholarships support foreign students to study at higher education institutions in Japan, for master's or doctoral programs. The scholarships provide a monthly stipend, accommodation, and travel funds to attend international conferences, for sessions in autumn and spring. Recipients are not obliged to repay the funds and must participate in foundation events and the network after completion of their studies.

Monthly stipend, housing, travel expenses for conference participation, and network participation with the foundation after graduation.

Eligible candidates are foreign nationals who will enroll in a Japanese higher education institution for a master’s or doctoral program, with sessions in autumn or spring. Applicants must be able to conduct daily conversations in Japanese, and have a strong desire to serve their home country after study; there are age limits: up to 30 for master's and up to 35 for doctoral programs.

Eligible applicants apply through the foundation’s process, including submission of required documents and likely interviews conducted in Japanese.
