Kari Thrane-Steens utdanningsstipend is an annual financial support programme for young people with epilepsy to assist with education. The stipend typically supports applicants who are in progress with or planning education beyond completed VG1, and it is possible to apply for a gap year at a folkehøyskole. Each year normally four or five applicants receive awards, and typical stipend amounts are NOK 40,000–50,000, though smaller or larger sums may be granted.
