About this opportunity

The Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center Fellowships 2026-2027 offer fellowships for scholars and writers to work with the research collections at the New York Public Library. Fellowships provide access to the Library's resources and include a stipend and office space. The program supports high-quality writing and research across a range of humanities disciplines, with up to five fellowships awarded each year, in conjunction with the American Council of Learned Societies.

Eligibility

Open to scholars and writers—academics, independent scholars, journalists, creative writers (novelists, playwrights, poets), translators, and visual artists.

How to apply

Submit separate applications to The New York Public Library and to the American Council of Learned Societies; joint fellowships require dual submissions.
