The L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Sub-Saharan Africa Fellowship recognises outstanding women scientists in the Sub-Saharan Africa region through regional fellowship awards. It supports researchers at the postdoctoral level in life sciences, physical sciences, mathematics, computer science and engineering. Laureates receive a regional fellowship stipend and international recognition.

Open to applicants from Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo (Brazzaville), Congo (DRC), Cote d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe studying at the Postdoctoral level.
