Burckhardt-Bürgin Foundation Research Stay Scholarship

The Burckhardt-Bürgin Foundation Research Stay Scholarship provides targeted financial support to promote international mobility for researchers affiliated with the University of Basel. It is aimed at doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers from any faculty who wish to undertake a short research stay abroad (exceptionally within Switzerland if scientifically justified). The grant is a flexible subsidy intended to cover essential logistical costs related to mobility and to facilitate access to international research resources and networks.

Up to 5,000 CHF covering travel, accommodation allowance, meal allowance, and potential registration or laboratory fees.

Applicants must be enrolled as doctoral candidates or employed as postdoctoral researchers at the University of Basel and belong to any faculty; they must present a short research stay project at a host institution abroad or in Switzerland and demonstrate academic merit and the relevance of the stay.

Submit a complete electronic application to the Career Promotion Office including official application form, academic CV, detailed research project description and objectives, provisional budget and host institution invitation; co-funding must be declared.
