Fonds de voyage (Travel Fund) – University of Basel

The Fonds de voyage (Travel Fund) of the University of Basel provides individual travel grants to support international mobility of early-career researchers affiliated with the university. It funds scientific travel for presenting research at international conferences or participating in specialized workshops and training that are directly related to the applicant's research project. Grants are awarded per beneficiary up to a yearly ceiling and reimburse eligible travel, meal, registration and accommodation expenses within the fund's rules.

Reimbursement of transport costs, meal costs up to 50 CHF/day with receipts, conference registration fees according to a scale, and a forfait accommodation allowance within the total grant (up to 2,000 CHF/year).

Applicants must be enrolled as doctoral candidates, be postdoctoral researchers or habilitation candidates at the University of Basel; in exceptional cases master's students presenting their own research may apply. The travel must be directly linked to the research project or acquisition of methodological skills.

Complete the online application form, print and sign it; include original receipts for travel and meals, proof of conference participation, and supervisor/department head signature; submit the complete dossier to the Career Promotion Office within 4 weeks after return. Requests under 150 CHF are not processed.
