FWO-reiskrediet

The FWO-reiskrediet is a travel credit provided by the Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO) to cover travel-related costs for researchers with an FWO mandate. It reimburses transportation (economy class flights or cheapest train fares), may include a forfaitary daily allowance and a kilometer allowance for car travel. The credit is subject to rules on bookings, insurance coverage and a positive travel advisory from the host institution.

Reimbursement of transport (economy flights or train), forfaitary daily allowance (EUR 66/day, max EUR 1,650/month), kilometer allowance up to EUR 800, and third-party payment to authorised travel agencies where applicable.

Available to FWO-mandate holders (onderzoeker / begunstigde) who have received an FWO travel credit and comply with requirements such as a positive travel advice from their Flemish host institution and valid insurance coverage.

FWO mandate holders must submit the 'melding buitenlands verblijf' form in the FWO e-loket before departure and follow booking procedures with FWO-authorised travel agencies; prior approval required for changes and positive travel advice from the host institution is necessary.
