Information

The Amgen Scholars Program at Washington University in St. Louis is a 10-week intensive summer laboratory research experience in biomedical research for undergraduate students. Scholars work with faculty and receive mentoring from graduate students and postdoctoral fellows while conducting an independent research project. The program includes seminars, workshops on scientific writing and career development, and culminates in a written paper and a scientific poster presentation. Social and professional integration activities and preparation for graduate and professional school applications are provided.

Eligibility

U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents; undergraduates enrolled in a four-year college or university in the U.S., Puerto Rico or other U.S. Territory at time of application and participation; cumulative GPA of at least 3.2; sophomores (with 4 quarters or 3 semesters), juniors, and non-graduating seniors returning in the fall; interest in pursuing Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
