Information

The PhD Position in Cell Biology and Neurobiology is a doctoral research position in the Emmy Noether junior research group at the Institute of Cell and Neurobiology, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. The project investigates local synaptic connectivity in cortical microcircuits using high-throughput multi-neuron patch-clamp in mouse and human acute brain slices. The role involves experimental work mapping excitatory and inhibitory connectivity and analysis of higher-order network motifs to understand microcircuit organization and cross-species generalizability.

Eligibility

Candidates must hold an M.Sc. or equivalent in Neuroscience, Biology, or a related field; practical lab experience in patch-clamp electrophysiology and molecular biology techniques are required; data analysis experience (Python and/or MATLAB) is desired.
