About this opportunity

Applications are open for stipend-based fellowships to appoint six African Wikipedians-in-Residence. The program aims to digitalise youth voices and promote a secure digital space through Wikimedia projects, addressing content gaps on topics related to cybersecurity, e-democracy, digital rights, and human rights in parts of Africa. Fellows receive a monthly stipend and participate in mentorship, training, and ongoing support from Code for Africa and partner organizations.

Eligibility

Be a registered Wikimedian with at least two years of editing experience and belong to the event organiser user group; fluency in English or French; interest in digital rights and youth civic engagement; experience organizing edit-a-thons and facilitating technical training; active contributor to Wikipedia/Wikidata.
