University of Bayreuth Centre of International Excellence “Alexander von Humboldt” Starter Grant Programme 2027

The Starter Grant Programme is a fully funded grant awarding scheme for researchers affiliated with institutions abroad to pursue innovative, high-quality projects at the University of Bayreuth. Grantees receive a sum to cover all costs of project realization and may be eligible for a follow-up Booster Grant upon successful completion of the starter funding.

Grant funds to cover project costs; monthly family allowance (250 €) for grantees with children; potential Booster Grant up to 20,000 € after successful completion.

Applicants must hold a PhD (with the PhD procedure fully completed) and be affiliated with an institution abroad; the selection is highly competitive and based on academic excellence and project potential.
