Breakthrough Junior Challenge

The Breakthrough Junior Challenge is an annual global science video competition for students to create an original short video that explains a scientific concept or theory. It accepts two-minute videos in English on topics in the life sciences, fundamental physics, or mathematics. Winners receive substantial monetary and in-kind awards for the student, their teacher, and their school. The competition includes public Popular Vote and expert Selection Committee stages.

$250,000 educational prize for the student winner; $50,000 for the teacher; a state-of-the-art science laboratory valued at $100,000; eligibility for Popular Vote and final selection.

Students ages 13 to 18 of any nationality; submissions must be in English and not longer than two minutes.

Produce and submit an original up-to-two-minute English-language science video via the competition entry portal.
