Breakthrough Junior Challenge

The Breakthrough Junior Challenge is a global science video competition in which students produce three-minute videos that explain fundamental concepts in the life sciences, physics and mathematics. Semifinalists and finalists are selected by an evaluation panel and by public voting, and the final winner receives major prizes presented at the annual Breakthrough Prize ceremony. The contest also includes peer-to-peer assessment among entrants and special themed sections (for example, a pandemic science category).

Winner receives a $250,000 college scholarship; the inspiring teacher receives $50,000; the winner's school receives a $100,000 science lab; winner presented at the Breakthrough Prize ceremony.

Students who create three-minute videos explaining scientific concepts and participate in the contest's peer-to-peer assessment.
