LMS Travel Grants to ICMs and ECMs

The LMS Travel Grants to ICMs and ECMs provide financial support to UK-based mathematicians to assist attendance at the International Congress of Mathematicians and the European Congress of Mathematics. The scheme particularly supports early career researchers, including postdoctoral researchers and UK-based PhD students with strong supervisory support. Grants contribute towards costs of attending the congresses but are not intended to meet the full cost or to support attendance at satellite meetings. Specific rounds are run for individual congresses (for example ICM 2026 and ECM 2028).

A contribution of up to £500 towards the costs of attending the relevant congress (ICM/ECM).

Applicants must be UK-based mathematicians; the Society particularly supports early career researchers defined as within five years of PhD completion (excluding career breaks) based at a UK institution. UK-based PhD students whose research would benefit from attending may apply with strong supervisory support.

Applicants applied via an online application form and required a supervisor/Head of Department to complete an online referee form by the stated deadline.
