The UQ South Pacific Islander Association (SPIA) Scholarship provides financial support to South Pacific Islander undergraduate students experiencing financial hardship. The scholarship awards $5,000 for one year to assist enrolled or future University of Queensland undergraduate students. Selection considers demonstrated financial hardship and commitment to the South Pacific Islander community and involvement in SPIA activities.

Eligibility

Applicants must be South Pacific Islander persons (from or with heritage from listed Pacific Island nations/communities) and be able to provide compelling evidence of their status; applicants must be able to demonstrate financial hardship. Eligible enrolment status: future UQ student or current UQ student at undergraduate level; student type: domestic.

Application

Submit an application to the University of Queensland with supporting documentation including evidence of South Pacific Islander status, proof of financial hardship (e.g. tax return or Centrelink statements) and a personal statement.
