University of Leeds United Kingdom 2026

Information

The Leeds Bursary is a means-tested financial award for eligible University of Leeds undergraduate students. Awards are paid as a cash instalment, a tuition-fee discount, or a discount against University accommodation. The amount depends on assessed household income and the year the student starts their studies.

Benefits

Annual cash award or tuition-fee discount or accommodation discount; amounts vary by household income (see funding_text and income bands).

Eligibility

Applicants must be registered on an undergraduate higher-education course at the University of Leeds lasting at least one year, meet the eligibility for a Maintenance Loan from the relevant UK student finance body, be home-rated for tuition fees, be liable for the maximum tuition fee (or pro rata for part-time), not already hold a degree-level qualification (with specified exceptions), have an assessed household income below £42,875 if they commenced studies after August 2024, and have an approved student finance application in place. Part-time students must be studying at least 30 credits a year and must apply each year.

Application

Full-time students are assessed automatically via student records and information provided to the Student Loans Company; eligible students receive an email to their University account. Part-time students must apply each year (application open in October after registration) via a short application form.
