Beca Selva Lacandona

The Beca Selva Lacandona is a government financial support program designed to ensure the continuation and completion of studies for indigenous youth from the Lacandona region, covering secondary and higher education. It provides monthly financial assistance to help with transport, materials, meals, and lodging, enabling students to study outside their communities when necessary. The program is managed through the INPI (formerly CDI) in coordination with the Chiapas state government.

Monthly monetary support to cover transport, materials, meals and lodging; potential one-time payments for enrollment and transportation at cycle starts/ends.

Indigenous youths from the Lacandona region who are enrolled in public secondary or higher education in a formal schooling mode, and who do not receive other similar government support for the same educational purpose.

Applications are typically announced publicly and collected through official convocatorias published by INPI and Chiapas education authorities.
