GEMS Scholarship (Monash University)

The GEMS Scholarship is a fully funded doctoral scholarship offered by Monash University for international and Malaysian students. It provides a full tuition waiver for up to 42 months, a monthly stipend (RM 2,950 during the Malaysia phase and up to RM 8,500 during the Australia phase), travel and visa support, health insurance, and additional funding for conference attendance. The program combines study in Malaysia and Australia ( reportedly up to 27 months in Malaysia and up to the remainder in Australia) with a required research topic and supervisor selection integrated into the admission process.

Open to Malaysian and international students who are admitted to the PhD program and who select a research topic within the specified GEMS topics, with the application tied to the program admission rather than a separate scholarship submission.
