Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS), in partnership with IUBMB and PABMB Worldwide 2026

Information

The PROBio-LatAm Fellowships enable PhD students and postdoctoral fellows from Latin American countries to spend 3–6 months working in the laboratory of an established scientist in a FEBS country. The programme is a joint venture between FEBS, IUBMB and PABMB and aims to provide access to technologies and expertise not readily available in applicants' home institutions and to build capacity in the molecular life sciences. Awards offset travel and living expenses and are intended to facilitate research training, collaboration and transfer of skills.

Benefits

Economy airfare and travel-related incidental expenses, local airport transfers, visa costs, and monthly living expenses scaled to visit length (maximum totals specified up to EUR 10,500).

Eligibility

Applications are welcomed from students officially enrolled in PhD programmes in Latin American countries affiliated with PABMB via their national societies, and from Latin American postdoctoral fellows and new researchers (not more than 5 years after obtaining the PhD) affiliated with PABMB. Hosts must be based at an eligible not-for-profit institution or university within a FEBS country.

Application

Submit an online application (in English) via the programme's application platform including a research proposal (up to two A4 pages), budget in EUR, CV and publication list, PABMB membership certificate, proof of language proficiency, supervisor/mentor recommendation, host agreement letter, list of host publications and host FEBS membership certificate.
