Project Grants

Project Grants fund short-term research projects lasting up to four years with a budget of less than £500,000. The grants support research activities based at established UK research institutions and are intended to be led by a principal investigator who will usually be a post-doctoral researcher. Funding may cover staff salaries (excluding PhD students), research consumables, essential equipment and limited travel to scientific meetings. Applications are submitted online and assessed by the Project Grants Committee following external peer review.

The principal investigator will usually be a post-doctoral researcher at any stage of their career. The work must be pursued at an established research institution in the UK.
