Grant Partially funded
VELUX FONDEN (VELUX FOUNDATION) Denmark 2026

Information

The VELUX FONDEN Publication Support is a grant programme that supports the publication of books by adults generally aged 67 and over, intended to help authors realise or develop their writing. Funding is awarded for completed manuscripts written after retirement and is intended to cover clearly defined and necessary publication-related costs. Support is typically granted for up to three publications per author and publications must meet content and formal criteria described in the Foundation's guidelines.

Benefits

Coverage of production costs, travel expenses and other publication-related costs; grant payment to the applicant.

Eligibility

Applicants (authors) must generally be aged 67+ and retired; applicants aged 60–67 must justify any exception. The manuscript must be completed, written after retirement, generally at least 50 pages, and publication must be through a publisher (self-publishing allowed with additional requirements). Applications must include a CV, publisher assessment and, for self-publishing, financial statements and an external assessment.

Application

Apply via the Foundation's online application portal and submit the completed manuscript, author CV, publisher assessment, third-party statement (for self-publishing), information on co-funding and previous grants, and other documents required in the downloadable guidelines.
