About this opportunity
This program, run jointly by the British Council and the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH) at the University of Edinburgh, offers up to two 12-month research fellowships starting in January 2027. It provides a bursary, travel expenses, desk space, library access and academic mentoring, with a focus on topics within Arts, Education and the English language that align with British Council priorities. Fellows conduct research visit(s) at IASH and contribute to knowledge exchange activities in collaboration with the British Council.

Eligibility
Applicants must be postdoctoral researchers based in any ODA-recipient country where the British Council operates and must have completed a doctorate by the time of application, typically within the last seven years.
