National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) 2026–27

The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) provides an annual scholarship to meritorious students from economically weaker households in India, supporting their continued education starting from Class IX through Classes X to XII, contingent on renewal requirements. The scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, with a revised deadline for the 2026–27 academic year.

INR 12,000 per year towards education; continuation through secondary classes subject to renewal.

Eligible students are those studying in Class IX in government or government-aided schools, from economically disadvantaged households, and meeting the scheme's academic and renewal criteria.

Applications are submitted through India's National Scholarship Portal (NSP) following One-Time Registration and locating the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme, with final submission by 15 November 2026.
