The AWJP x DW Akademie Gender + AI Reporting Fellowship 2026 supports women journalists in Kenya to investigate how AI and digital technologies are affecting women and gender-diverse communities, while also learning how AI tools can support stronger reporting. Fellows will gain practical skills in gender-sensitive journalism, AI literacy, and investigative storytelling, and will produce original stories for publication. The fellowship includes training, editorial mentorship, and access to selected AI tools, with microgrants to produce stories.

Eligibility

Women journalists based in Kenya who work in print, radio, television, or digital media and who can participate in online training and mentorship.
