Joint Innovation Facility

The Joint Innovation Facility (JIF) is an Africa–Europe initiative that funds consortia to develop digitally enabled, commercially viable solutions in areas such as climate tech, smart mobility, blue tech, energy, and smart cities. It provides catalytic funding and additional support including mentorship, investment readiness, and visibility for selected ventures.

Catalytic funding of €100,000–€250,000; mentorship and investment-readiness support; visibility and international networking opportunities.

Consortia with at least two partners (one Sub-Saharan African lead and one other partner from Sub-Saharan Africa or Europe). The lead must be African-led and partners must have a strong leadership team, commercial viability, and commit to co-financing.

Stage 1: Submit Expression of Interest (EOI) and undergo eligibility checks; Stage 2: Shortlisted applicants submit a full proposal and undergo final selection.
