A week-long summer school organised by the Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom that examines the role and practice of journalism in the age of AI, platforms and influencers. The programme combines legal, political, economic, ethical and practical perspectives and includes lectures, interactive sessions and networking. It is designed to equip journalists and media practitioners with tools to understand technological and regulatory changes affecting journalism and democratic information ecosystems. A certificate is awarded to participants who successfully complete the training course.
Benefits
Travel expenses (up to a ceiling) contribution, accommodation for five nights, tuition fees, course materials, access to the EUI library and Wi‑Fi, social activities, lunches and coffee breaks; a certificate on successful completion.
Eligibility
Primarily designed for mid-career journalists and media practitioners, but also open to other stakeholders from the news industry and the research community; working language is English and all participants must be fluent in English.
