Forte Sweden 2026

Information

A competitive grant programme supporting junior researchers to establish independence by funding two- or three-year research projects with emphasis on scientific quality, societal relevance and career development. Projects may be conducted fully or partially abroad if justified, and must have relevance to Swedish research and society. Funding decisions are announced in October 2026 and project start is 1 January 2027.

Eligibility

Applicants must be junior researchers holding a doctoral degree obtained no later than the application deadline, applying within three years of obtaining the degree; be the sole applicant; have a minimum 50% activity level in the project; and be employed by a Swedish administrating organisation approved in the Prisma system. Doctoral students/support staff may be included under specific conditions.

Application

Register and create a personal account in Prisma; upload CV and publication list; ensure administering organisation is approved in Prisma; prepare an application in Swedish or English including project details, budget and justification for Swedish relevance; submit before the deadline.
