Information

Applications are open for the IMF Economist Program 2026, a three-year program consisting of two 18-month assignments designed to develop future leaders in the Fund. Participants will conduct operations-related analysis, research and policy development, with opportunities to work on macroeconomic issues across IMF member countries and receive professional training and mentoring.

Eligibility

Top economists from around the world who have recently completed or are expected to complete a PhD within a year of joining the IMF, and who are below age 34 at entry, with strong English skills and nationality of a IMF member country.
